COMMISSIONS
Stephen creates paintings on a commission basis for individuals and organizations. Paintings can be commissioned in any size, but it is generally more cost effective to chose from the sizes Stephen currently works in. These include (in inches):

Paintings on canvas do not need to be framed, thus the above sizes reflect the dimensions of the finished piece. If you chose to frame the canvas, the final size would increase.
The orientation of these canvases could be horizontal or vertical.

Although 48in x 72in (4ft x 6ft) is the largest standard size, Stephen also creates pairs, triptychs and other groupings. This enables the creation of work for large spaces while avoiding the difficulties of transportation and moving (stairways and elevators) associated with over-sized paintings. For example, three, 3ft x 5ft verticals can create an overall image of over 6ft wide by 5ft high.

The commission process begins with a meeting to discuss the client's design and size preferences. Original paintings in the studio and photographs of previous paintings can be referred to for design direction.  From there, a price and estimated completion date are determined. With the exception of very unusual requests, all commissions are done on a "no-obligation" basis.
